Churning

Excessive Trading or "Churning":

Churning occurs when a stockbroker makes trades in an account more frequently than necessary, with the sole intent of generating commissions. Churning is an illegal practice by a stockbroker to earn commissions without considering what is in the customer’s best interests. Your broker can be forced to pay the commissions earned and losses incurred when your account is churned.
